A Generalized Vehicle Routing Problem Solution, which plans out the journey for various vehicles based on the imposed constrains. Routes are displayed on the screen with the simulation of vehicles.

 

My responsibilities:

Ø       Design a heuristic solution for Vehicle Routing problem.

Ø       Development of the complete system.

 

TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT APPLICATION

Team Size: 7                                                              Nov 2003 – Dec 2004

The application generates pick-up and drop-off list, of customers at different locations and then helps perform manual scheduling and monitoring of vehicles on these routes.

 

My responsibilities:

Ø       System Design and High Level Design

Ø       Integration of the Map Engine with the application.

Ø       Simulation of the routes generated on the map.

Ø       Integration with the GPS unit for monitoring of vehicles on the map.

FLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The application can be used to cater any business need where planning, monitoring and control are integral part of the solution. Flight control and Fleet Management are two such solutions.

Ø       Integration of User Interface, Database, Map Engine and Image Processing Toolkit.

Ø       Development and implementation of algorithms for extracting information from AutoCAD format map.

MAP ENGINE

AUTOMATION OF PRV (Pilot less Remote Vehicle)

Module: Navigation System (NS)

Mathematical modeling of vehicle trajectory. It takes map data as primary input for decision. It signals the Lane Processing module to send the world points of the Lane. With the help of world points and feedback parameters (position, speed and steering angle) it estimates the profile of the trajectory as the steering angle with respect to distance/time.

AUTOMATION OF PRV (Pilot less Remote Vehicle)

Module: Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Developed a HMI software module for Graphical User Interface (GUI). The source and destination of the journey is selected from the map displayed in the screen. The scheduling of the journey is implemented in the background process.
